Go Nuts for Donuts by Game Wright, is a fast paced set collecting game that is perfect for families and features delicious looking donuts as the main stars.
The objective of the game is to score the highest points, by collecting sets and unique donuts cards to score the most points before the end of the game. Each round a set of cards based on the number of players are placed on the table and assigned a number. Then players must pick a number card from their hand that corresponds to their desired donut card. Players then simultaneously reveal which number they picked and receive the donut card that corresponds with that number. But, players need to choose carefully, because if two or more players go for the same donut card then nobody gets it and it is instead discarded!
Go Nuts for Donuts is a very easy to play set collecting game, with a lot of unique cards with tons of affects. I love the card designs, all of the donuts look very cute. The game does a great job of accommodating different numbers of players, since it has multiple sets of cards that are supposed to be either added or subtracted based on the number of players. One aspect I don’t prefer about the game is that if two or more players select the same card then neither player will get the card. This can be very frustrating when you keep selecting the same card as another player, thereby not receiving any cards and not scoring any points. Overall the game play is fun, is a very easy game to teach new players, and is a great filler game because of its short play time. If you enjoy set collecting games, like; Sushi Go or Jaipur I suggest giving Go Nuts for Donuts a try.
