Board Game Review: OrganATTACK!

OrganATTACK! by Awkward Yeti, is a zany card game with the simple objective “remove all your opponents’ organs, before they remove all of yours.” The game is a “take that” style card game that features the organ characters from Awkward Yeti’s online web-comic series.

The game play is very simple and straight forward, where you play cards to attack opponent’s organs during your turn. You can also play cards that heal your own organs or other cards that can cancel out opponents’ cards. The gameplay is in many ways similar to other games such as Exploding Kittens, but with its own unique flare of course. The difficult part is planning which attack card to use on your opponent, because most cards can only hurt certain body parts.

One of my favorite parts of this game is the art and character design! Being both cute and funny. The game’s box is also wonderful, being made to look like a medical dictionary, which really helps it to stand out on your game shelf. The gameplay is very easy to learn, but can become frustrating toward the end of the game on the count of players needing certain attack cards to afflict damage to opponents organ cards. (e.g. only cards that can attack each organ can be played against them, and if the player doesn’t have them they have to discard and redraw until they find the right cards) Overall, I would recommend trying out the game, if not picking up your own copy.
